Before NYPD Chief Monahan was attacked on Wednesday by protestors, apparently, a few of the agitators were offered with baseball bats.Protesters apparently got a shipment of bats prior to anti-police activists clashed with officers on the Brooklyn Bridge Wednesday.A parking lot near City Hall made the shipment, and one male was seen obtaining six bats from the trunk, according to security video footage provided to the New York Post.
” Police sources said the bats were delivered so the anti-cop activists might face a unity rally case over the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan,” the outlet noted, adding that clergy, police, and neighborhood activists went to the unity rally.
It was unclear whether the City Hall protesters utilized the bats during the run-in with the opposing protesters; however, a minimum of one was recovered following the occurrence, authorities sources informed the Post.Several New York Police Department (NYPD) officers were attacked and injured during the conflict, according to the Associated Press (AP).
” At least 4 officers were harmed, consisting of Chief of Department Terence Monahan, and 37 people were detained, police said. Tuesday, Monahan said during an interview that there was “a feeling on the street that the authorities are handcuffed,” and “are afraid that they might be apprehended if they take some proactive-type enforcement,” according to Breitbart News.
